Day 20

Bit of a bugger - slipped crossing the campsite and twisted my 'bad' knee. Pretty sore.
Stayed in Beddgelert today as we are a day ahead of ourselves. We had a late breakfast / early lunch in an expensive little cafe trying to be a bistro (Al's bread and butter was about 3mm thick!), then went to see Gelerts grave - Gelert was a poor dog that got a pretty bum deal - google it and you'll see what I mean. We walked the fishermans path down the Pass of Aberglaslyn with the river howling past just a few feet away from the via ferrata like hand and footholds. Didn't do my knee much good!
We walked the 1.5 miles back to the site, cleaned up and took a 50p bus ride back to town for some grub and a couple of pints of pretty average beer.
We left the pub at about 10, just in time for the rain and a bus came around the corner and picked up 3 damp and tired guys just a little worse for wear and deposited us at the gate of our site. Lovely!
We made a few 'plan B's' before we hit the sleeping bags - alternative routes were prepared for bad weather / kneesn etc.

Sods law isn't it. Just when you've got the fitness sorted, and the time for the trip, bang goes something or other
;-(
