Hanging around II

Managed to get into the woods today and had a go at rigging the hammock. In a rush to get my feet up, I didn't search for the perfect spot, but it was good enough for me to have a lounge around, watching the squirrels for an hour.

Fantastically comfortable, loads of pockets for gear and/or insulation (ziplock bags that have been inflated and stuffed into the pockets are recommended 'cos you get a could bum in a hammock) and dead quick to put up.

Apologies to the tarpists out their, the flysheet rigging could have done with a bit more effort, but I'll save that for my first night out.

Hey Chris
That looks a nice bit of kit :-).
I was listening to Spencer Clarke PBP podcasts and thought it sounds a good idea but would it work in the U.K.
I`ll be interested to see how you get on with it.
Best
George
Hi George,
I think it will work OK in the UK. A lot of people use them (mainly paddlers and bushcrafters) and the Clark's flysheet can be dropped and velcro'd around the hammock in real torrential horizontal rain.
We'll see!
Chris
Looks fantastic. I've been considering one of these - unfortunately I rarely come across a tree when I'm hiking, which kind of rules it out.
Wow. You don't do things half hearted do you?
That's the biz. The supremo of hammocks! The holy grail. Will be interested in your thoughts on it. Does the mossy net detach?
Cheers,
Pablo.
Hi Pablo,
It opens right out (and tucks in a neat little pocket near the foot of the hammock) and can also be used without the fly if you fancy some shooting star spotting.
I hate spiders and spiders live in trees so the net is staying staying firmly zipped up!
Mrs Cowell is expecting our 3rd baby any minute now, so it may be a while before I get out, but it will be a good excuse to dig out my winter sleeping bag.
Chris
Hi Mark,
I don't normally either, but it's great for a different kind of adventure. It can actually be rigged on/between rocks - I'm thinking Woolpacks on Kinder Scout!
Hi, When you received the Hammock did you get any Charges applied, VAT, Handling etc
Nothing yet Karl!
