I had forgotten about that!
When we got back from the Cambrian Way, I wrote to Road Angel to say how much we appreciated their Adventurer 6000 GPS and how much it helped us out on the walk. It's not something I have done before, but I really thought they deserved a bit of praise because it is a truly excellent bit of kit for any serious walker.
They emailed me a few weeks ago asking for permission to use my letter in their advertising campaigns...

Chris,
Does (or could) the Road Angel make use of any Professional features of the Memory Map software?. Documentation is a bit scarce unless you have the product (which I haven't).
Which version of MM are you running on the Road Angel?.
Hi Geoff,
You don't get any choice of running different 'versions', you just get the 'Road Angel' version. I have spoken to them at length about this as I could run different versions on my PDA.
So, therefore, pro features are a no-no.
If you use MM/Tomtom on a PDA, stay there!
If you want a standalone, tough, waterporoof car/walking solution, I believe this is the best option available.
Chris
