OS maps on Google Earth
I can’t believe I have only just found this.
A wonderful man called Gavin Brock has found a way to put OS maps onto a Goggle Earth overlay… and it works a treat.
Get Google Earth here the KML file here and let’s have a round of applause for the gentleman :)

Cracking find.
I wonder how long before the OS' iron fist crashes down.
What a brilliant app. I was planning on getting Anquet or Quo but with this and the other free mapping, my paper maps and my miserly nature it is hardly worth splashing out for the 5 or 6 trips I do each year.
I do not understand the economics of it tho. I think there is a daily allowance of 30000 tiles - is this given free by OS? Is it paid for by Gavin? Anyway thnks for the lead. Fred
Hi Fred,
This is pure speculation, but I would imagine that OS caps the number of requests per IP address? Gavin doesn't pay anything (at least i doubt he does!). Glad you are finding it useful.
Chris
