Ride to Remember Black Wall Street June 1, 2024
The third annual Ride to Remember Black Wall Street.
This event is hosted by The Community Light Foundation which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
Our goal is to honor and remember Black Wall Street's rich history while promoting health and wellness in our community. By fighting food insecurity and promoting better health through diet.
The route is one of the most beautiful in the Tulsa area. Riding past the homes on lake Skiatook. You then cross the lake and head to the base of the Skiatook dam. Country road secluded and passes a Cock Fighting farm.
(Only in Oklahoma) There is a majestic and challenging climb up to the Blue Water Tower North of Skiatook. This route then heads to the community of Sperry. The course goes directly through the community of Sperry. Sperry was the host city for the 1983 movie The Outsiders. Tom Cruise, Matt Dillon, Patrick Swayze, Ralph Macchio, Rob Low, and Emilio Estevez were featured in their first movie. The old drug store and DX service station have been restored. Exiting Sperry, the route crosses the old steel frame bridge on 96th.Street.
This route has something for everyone.
